EXPOCEARÁ


After three very successful editions, Maquintex consolidates itself as the great event of the textile industry of the Northeast.

Maquintex – Machinery, Equipments, Services and Chemicals for the Textile Industry Trade Fair is the event that joins all the links of the textile chain; integrating, in perfect symphony, cutting edge machinery with the creative universe of students and stylists.

Close to 20,500 visitors were present from all regions of Brazil and from 13 countries, which visited 500 brands, in 150 stands.

Along with the trade fair, the XXIV National Congress of Textile Technicians took place, which brought together the main speakers from the most diverse technical areas related to the textile industry and close to two thousand participants, and the Brazil Fashion Designers – Northeast 2011 and the 3rd Sinditêxtil Dressmaking, Modelling, Design and Fashion Blog Contest, which brought the creations of young talents from the Northeast to the catwalk.

This edition of Maquintex was further highlighted by an important charity event: through a partnership with the Government of the State of Ceará, a parking lot was made available, whose profits were fully donated to the Support House and Children's Home Sol Nascente, the Boa Semente Project and the IDH – Instituto de Desenvolvimento Humano (Institute for Human Development).


MAQUINTEX IN FIGURES:

In the 2007 edition, over 320 exhibiting brands were present, distributed among 80 stands of renowned national and international companies, which received visits from more than 12,000 people.

In 2009, there were over 400 brands, in 120 stands and 16,440 visitors.

In 2011, there were 500 brands, in 150 stands and about 20,500 visitors from all regions of Brazil and from a further 13 countries.

Venue: EXPOCEARÁ

In 2013, Maquintex will have a new home to meet the growth in one of the main textile markets in Brazil. EXPOCEARÁ will offer the largest events structure in the Northeast and one of the four most attractive in the whole country. An area of over 65,000m² divided in auditoriums, food halls, extensive parking, among other components which will be part of a modern complex.


Parallel Events:

Simultaneously we will hold the Femmic – Machinery for the Leather Shoe industry Fair, which will present the best companies in this sector, in areas such as, leather finishings, adhesives, shoe components and artefacts, tanning, packaging, soles and much more.

In the technical area, once again we will bring the Technological Seminar, bringing knowledge and updates to the participants in the fair.

Furthermore, we will have another edition of the Brazil Fashion Designers – Northeast, which will discover new talents in the fashion and design areas from all over the Northeast.

NORTHEASTERN TEXTILE MARKET:

Although young, the sector is gaining territory in recent years. Today it accounts for 18.6% of the whole national product.

One of the main features is the the state of Ceará, where the textile and clothing sector, today accounts for 15% of the transformation industry, which corresponds to 13% of state GDP.

It is also the second largest consumer of cotton, and the second largest producer of lingerie and knitwear, it invoiced US$ 2.16 billion, having 52,400 registered employees and another 300,000 people employed indirectly, according to Textília Magazine. The cearenses exports of products in the textile sector grew by 4.6% in 2010, reaching sixth place in the ranking of exporter states. Also highlighted, the pernambucan hub formed by the cities of Caruaru, Toritama and Santa Cruz do Capibaribe, with an important performance in the national production.
